Grammar rant #1

So, I'm gonna put my grammar rants here.

Female is an adjective.
It can be used in very restricted ways as a noun, but in general, it is an adjective.
You can call me female, but don't call me a female.
I suppose you could use the phrase Paulette is a female Homo sapiens.
But, again, it is an adjective in that sentence, so falls under acceptable usage.
